The farmers market is open this year from
Saturday, June 16th thru Saturday, October 27th
downtown Hazlehurst next to the train depot.  It is
open from 8:00 a.m til 12 p.m.  The market is
funded by a grant from the USDA Farmers
Market Promotion Program.  This project is in
collaboration with the Copiah County
Supervisors and the Hazlehurst Area Chamber
of Commerce.

The Calling Panther Heritage Foundation is
seeking funds to renovate the historic Millsaps
hotel to be utilized as a cultural arts center in
Copiah County.  The building will be used as a
business incubator for small start-up businesses
and as an entrepreneurial training site for high
school students.  This site will give local arts and
crafts people, musicians, and dancers a place
they can come for assistance and/or showcase
their wares or hold classes and/or
performances.  
Robert Johnson Birthplace

Calling Panther is currently seeking funds to
restore the birthplace of Robert Johnson.  The
house is located in Hazlehurst and is being
protected with funds from a prior donor.
